Dr Mary Hunter has a PhD from the University of St Andrews, with a thesis on the Islamisation of Pakistan and its impact on ‘non-Muslims.’ She has previously worked at other think tanks, namely the Centre for Strategic and Contemporary Research (CSCR) in Pakistan, the London Institute for South Asia (LISA) and the Centre for Army Leadership (CAL). Dr Hunter writes regularly for newspapers and think tanks on topics relating to Pakistan, India, South Asian diasporas in the UK, Islamophobia and decolonisation.
