Dr. Kodithuwakku holds an MBBS, MSc in Community Medicine, MSc in Disaster Risk Reduction and Development, an MBA, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Health Sector Disaster Management.

Dr. Kodithuwakku was the Secretary of the Sri Lanka Medical Association (SLMA) for the year 2024 and is currently serving as the editor of the Association of Disaster Risk Management Professionals (ADRiMP), Sri Lanka. He is also a Doctoral Researcher at the University of Huddersfield, UK. Dr. Kodithuwakku has made significant contributions to public health and disaster management. His work with the National Dengue Control Unit, Ministry of Health, and his expertise in developing strategies for disaster risk reduction, focusing on community resilience and sustainable development, are highly commendable.
