Meet our speaker

Houri Nouri is a distinguished Communication Specialist and Mentor with over six years of dedicated expertise. Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Art & Humanities at Brunel University, her research employs arts-based methodologies to investigate the identity politics of young Iranian women in British urban society. This innovative approach highlights her deep understanding of communication design and its application in exploring complex identity issues.

With a significant background in communication, Houri has dedicated the last four years to researching migration identity. Her work delves into the identity transitions experienced by migrants, providing nuanced support and insights into their experiences. This focus has led to her mentorship roles at the University of Westminster and Brunel University, as well as her collaboration with the mental health platform Matching Mind, where she supports students’ academic and personal journeys.

Her work fosters a deeper understanding of migration and identity evolution, positioning her as a valuable asset in the fields of communication and migrant support, with a specialized focus on the identity of emigrants.
