Houri Nouri is an expert in migration and identity, specializing in the complex processes of identity formation within the context of migration. With a focus on the experiences of Iranian women in British urban society, her research examines the identity transitions that occur when individuals navigate cultural dislocation. Using arts-based methodologies and drawing on a new materialist feminist perspective, Houri explores how migration reshapes personal and collective identities, considering the interconnections of culture, gender, and belonging.
Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Art & Humanities at Brunel University, Houri’s work contributes to a deeper understanding of the identity politics of migration. Her approach provides critical insights into the evolving nature of self-perception and cultural belonging in the face of displacement, highlighting the dynamic relationship between individuals and their environments.
