Jan Fidrmuc is a Professor of Economics and holder of ‘Accueil de talents 2020’ chaire d’excellenceSenior at the Université de Lille (University of Lille), France. His research interests encompass political economy, migration, the economics of transition, and institutional economics. He has published his work in several leading European and international peer-reviewed journals, including the European Economic Review, European Journal of Political Economy, Journal of Comparative Economics, and Electoral Studies. Additionally, he is a research fellow at the Centre for Economic Studies (CESifo) in Munich, the Global Labor Organization, and the Rimini Centre for Economic Analysis.
Jan Fidrmuc earned his PhD from the Center for Economic Research at Tilburg University in the Netherlands in 1999. Prior to his position at Université de Lille, he held appointments at Brunel University London, the Center for European Integration Studies (ZEI) at Bonn University, Trinity College Dublin, and the European Centre for Advanced Research in Economics and Statistics (ECARES) at Université Libre de Bruxelles.
